Mumbai: Salman Khan is extending the ambit of his ‘bhaigiri’ from the silver screen to the business space now. Expanding his Being Human (BH) brand, the superstar has launched a range of electric cycles under the same brand. Initially, the Dabangg Khan has launched two variants.
Called BH27 and BH 12, the two variants start with a price tag of Rs 40,000 and go up to Rs 57,000 for the top model. Best part is that these cycles can also be powered by an onboard battery pack. You can choose the riding mode with flick of a switch. This feature has been incorporated to reduce your fatigue. So when you approach a steep climb you can switch to battery mode.
"I have always enjoyed cycling. It's fantastic for leisure and sport. But people often drop the idea of using cycles when they have to travel long distances because of the effort involved. With the pedal assist and rechargeable motor support, Being Human E-Cycles make it easy and practical to cycle across both urban and not-so-urban areas,” said Salman.
These ARAI-certified cycles have a maximum speed of 25 km/hr, and require less maintenance than a conventional cycle. Though the cycles run on battery too, but you don’t need a license or registration to drive them.
Currently, you can book these in Mumbai. Soon, these Salman cycles will be available across the country.
Salman, along with his brother Sohail, rode on a cycle to the launch venue at Mehboob Studio from his residence in Bandra.
The "Dabangg" actor confessed that since the beginning of his film career he has been excited about riding a cycle on screen, be it "Maine Pyaar Kiya", "Kick" which continues in his upcoming "Tubelight".
"My father (Salim Khan) used to teach me how to ride cycle. He was not doing that well (financially) as a writer then but still he bought a cycle for Rs 3,000, when his monthly salary was only about Rs 750-1,000," he said
