New Delhi, May 16: Lot of drama is taking place in Karnataka where both BJP and Congress are fighting tooth and nail to form the government. While the BJP is elated with BJP surge in South as the great gateway of opportunity now opens, it has been a poor show by the Congress as its image of deep hold and penetration deep south has got a drubbing.
After missing the opportunity of making a government in Goa, Manipur and Meghalaya, the Congress is moving very cautiously its seriousness to make the government can be gauged from the fact that instead of relying on its lieutenants, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi has herself called upon HD Deve Gowda and offered his son the CM's chair. SO the kingmaker is now being made the king.
Congress is taking a busload of its MLAs to the Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru and showing them as a show of strength. they want to signal that it has the numbers to form the government in the state. JDS MLAs are likely to join the Congress MLAs.
After the show of strength at Raj Bhavan, the Congress is likely to move its MLAs to a resort in Bengaluru. HD Kumaraswamy had alleged that the BJP is offering Rs 100 crore to his MLAs.
All eyes are on who the Karnataka Governor will invite to form the government in the southern state.
