Manthan Chhattisgarh: ‘Cong does not play role of Opposition with responsibility,’ BJP

New Delhi, Dec 11: Chhattisgarh minister Brijmohan Agarwal and Congress’ Pramod Dubey locked horns on many vital issues. The session was highly interactive session of Chhattisgrah Manthan, a Conclave oragnised by News24 in Raipur. Many topical and sensitive issues like Naxalism, unemployment, demonetization, deforestation among many other topics as well were discussed at length and many facts were put threadbare.
Mohan Aggarwal said,"The percentage of farmer suicide is far less than other states. And it is nor because of farming issues,there may be other reasons for this."
Congress' Pramod Dube said, "We are framed by the government under various acts, there is vindictive politics in the state. We are living in fear." He added that this is a government of hoardings, but the ground reality is that they are zero.They know how to talk big.
The issue of farmers was raked in, Agarwal said, "We can take pride in the fact that we take care of our farmers in the best possible way. We are into sugarcane farming and this was not done before. Even the court has agreed that we have the best procurement system in Chhattisgarh."
Agarwal was countered with the issue of resort, which allegedly is owned by his family members and is on government land.
Said Agarwal, "I will not respond to the personal attacks. They blame my family but that is not supported by any evidence.
On th issue of FDI, Dubey said, "There is non transparency on many issues. Till date we do not know who are the investors? There are just talks and no real investors on ground. They just know the art of giving numbers, but not real numbers." News24Bureau
