New Delhi: A former merchant navy officer went on stabbing his 60-year-old father 36 times.
The 38-year-old allegedly tried to attack the society guard before attacking his father inside his flat in East Delhi. When the father tried to escape, he was chased and stabbed 36 times as he crawled his way to the guards downstairs.
As the incidence was captured in a CCTV cameras, the suspect, Rahul Matta rushed upstairs and allegedly stabbed a female neighbour in her flat. Later by taking another neighbour in hostage, the suspect locked himself in his house.
When policed tried to take over the situation, Rahul switched on the LPG supply and blew up the flat, reportedly injuring nine policemen. The man was saved from the burning flat and will be interrogated by the police upon his discharge.
Rahul Matta, had been jailed twice and was sacked from the merchant navy, had been disowned by his father, Ravinder Matta, and forced to vacate the house.
