Australia: An Australian couple has been charged for disturbing the peace of their neigbours by making obscene noise during intercourse.

The neigbours called the police 20 times in a span of four months and an order was issued to Jessica Angel, 34, and Colin MacKenzie, 45, for “screaming, loud moaning, swearing and raised voices”, DailyMail reported.

In the wake of repeated complaints against them, the couple was charged under the Environmental Protection Act and £3,000 fine will be slapped on them if they are convicted.

“We exceeded the noise pollution to the point we were arrested and taken out of our own house and told we couldn’t have sex,’ Angel was quoted as saying by the website.

MacKenzie said: “How can you live in a place where you can’t have sex? It’s ridiculous. Anyway, it’s mostly Jessie. The sex goes from four to seven hours, five nights a week. I’ll probably die of a heart attack – she’s almost killing me.”

“We don’t want to be seen as the killjoy police because we’re certainly not. People have a right to privacy within their own home, but when their actions impact others police need to step in before a situation escalates,’ Detective Chief Inspector Trevor Lovegrove of Sturt police was quoted as saying by the DailyMail.

A neighbour said that loud and obscene screams woke him up one night.
