Amal Clooney, wife of actor George Clooney, has become famous in her own right as a barrister in international human rights law and as a fashion icon.
Very little was known about her when she was catapulted into "Hollywoodish" fame when dating George Clooney.
In a much awaited and rare interview with Vogue, she reveals on the way her romance blossomed after she attended a party as his Lake Como House, Italy.
On making a married man out of the eternal bachelor, Amal Clooney has revealed the husband George was the one with the moves. He wooed her with emails in the voice of his dog Einstein when she'd become weary on love at 35 as she poses for the new issue of Vogue wearing a Johanna Ortiz dress
'I was 35 when I met him. It wasn’t obvious that it was going to happen for me. And I wasn’t willing or excited about the idea of getting married or having a family in the absence of tha.' She said.
George had previously said that they went on a safari with friends and he took a picture of some giraffes that had come up to a smiling Amal - and in that moment, he had an epiphany that he should propose.
27 September was the date when they got hitched! All eyes were on the City of Love where George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin were joined by family and friends for their glamorous Venice wedding. The venue was seven-star Aman Canal Grande hotel, where the couple hosted their nuptials.
Amal said their twins Ella and Alexander have already said their first words and get into bed with the couple both between six and 8am.
She noted that their routine is easier when they were first born as the bed was full of 'weird cushions and pillows and machines,' at that time.
The interviewer noted that George made a FaceTime call to Amal during the chat where he asked after the 'knuckleheads' (the twins).
Amal said: 'This is the first time since their birth that he’s been away, and the distance has nagged at him more than he’d expected.'
Back in February, George talked about Amal to host David Letterman, saying: I realized fairly quickly that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Amal (but) we had never talked about it so there wasn't like a 'Hey, maybe we should get married.' Literally, I laid it on her. And she just kept saying, 'Oh my god,' – completely unexpected. We just sat there and finally I said, 'Listen, I'm 52 and I've been on my knee now for about 28 minutes, so I gotta get an answer out of this or I'm going to throw a hip out. I might not be able to stand straight.'"
The couple juggles their life between: Italy, America, and England. But as soon as the kids go to school, they will zero in on a place. In the meantime, we will continue to move according to our respective schedules."
