Chandigarh: Rakesh Singh, a 1978 batch IAS officer, took charge as Chief Secretary of Punjab from S C Aggrawal. Singh who was serving on deputation with Union Government as Additional Secretary Finance and was appointed Chief Secretary Punjab on March 14, has a rich varied experience on different assignments, an official release said here.
It said that Singh has served in Punjab as MD Punjab Khand Udyog, Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur, MD Sugarfed, MD Punjab Agro, among other assignments. Singh came to Punjab after nine years deputation with Union Government, where he worked on different assignments mainly in the Union Finance Ministry.
Aggrawal demitted office, to take oath of Chief Commissioner of Right to Service Commission Punjab. (PTI)
