London: The Indian contingent of 81 athletes was warmly and cheerfully welcomed during the London Olympics opening ceremony on Friday.
Bronze medallist wrestler Sushil Kumar led the Indian contingent. While men were smartly dressed in navy blue blazers, cream trousers, yellow safas, off-white shirts and ties, women looked elegantly beautiful in yellow sarees.
Randhir Singh, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) secretary-general, was seen waving at the contingent.
Athletes from India will participate in 13 disciplines. Around 10,500 athletes are taking part in the games.
