Mumbai, Maharashatra: We are uprooting & cutting trees to make those super highways – converting our green areas to deserts.

We have a rule that no one can cut or uproot TREE(s) if needed then one has to plant one.... But when we travel on Maharashtara Highway, one can easily find large number of trees uprooted.

These trees are very old. Are we building these roads & super highways for better tomorrow or towards Desert & Hell....?

What comes as a surprise is that this deforestation is being done by government authorities. Do they plant trees while uprooting tens and hundreds and may be even thousands of green trees.

These so-called authorities can do anything in the name of "For Public Development".

In fact to snip a tree in Mumbai (Bombay) one has to follow various kind of lengthy procedures. It is after the permission of BMC that one can snip a tree in one’s own compound.

These rules do not even allow societies to snip trees in their own areas. We are building up deserts for our coming generations. I hope public, government and NGOs would wake-up & save our trees.
