2 Yoga Poses for Indigestion

Well, the cause of indigestion and constipation can be as different as chalk and cheese with various diagnoses! One of the ways to prevent stomach ailments is to be very busy! Just as a busy schedule, lack of exercise, stress or depression etc. However, incorporating these poses in your daily routine can severly decrease your chances of stomach irregularities! 

Here are two poses for it: 

 

* Kapalbhati Pranayam: 

 

 

Directions: 

  1. Sit straight with your spine erect and cross your legs in front of you.

  2. Take in a deep breath and exhale quickly and suddenly, making a puffing sound while you do it. Focus on exhaling forcefully and not on the inhalation.

  3. When you exhale, draw your abdominal muscles inward simultaneously. Your abdomen should rise when you inhale and fold when you exhale.

  4. Continue for 10 breaths and then take a break. Perform two more similar sets.

 

* Vajrasana 

 

 

 

Directions: 

  1. Sit on the floor on a mat or directly on the ground.

  2. Fold your legs and sit in such a manner such that your heel touches your butt.

  3. Place your hands on your lap exactly as shown in the figure above. You may let your palms face the sky as well.

  4. Hold the sitting pose for two minutes (to start with). You will feel a stinging pain in your feet if you are not habituated to sitting this way. You can stretch your legs and rest for a while and start again.
