104 kg marijuana seized in Delhi, one held

A 26-year-old man was arrested in west Delhi on the charge of smuggling 104 kg of marijuana, police said on Monday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police M.N. Tiwari said accused Vicky, 26, from Baprola in west Delhi was arrested on Saturday evening near the Peeragarhi Metro station following a tip-off. 

"The accused coming from Rohini area in a Santro car was signalled to stop but he tried to flee. However, police stopped his vehicle and overpowered him," Tiwari said. 

Police seized the contraband valued at Rs 12 lakh and packed in four bundles from the car.
